Shirley Schneider

July 7, 1935 — July 20, 2021

Shirley Ann Schneider, age 86, of the town of Scott, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Bell Tower Residence, while under the care of Compassus Hospice.

Shirley was born on July 7, 1935 to Walter and Cecelia (Geiss) Grund and grew up on the family farm in the town of Schley.  She attended and graduated from Merrill High School.  She met Ronald Schneider and the two exchanged marriage vows on her birthday, July 7, 1955, in Merrill.  He survives.

Shirley was a dairy farmer with her husband and children on their farm in the town of Scott.  When she was younger, she worked as a certified nursing assistant at the hospital in Merrill and Bell Tower Residence.  Shirley would enjoy riding along with her family during the bear hunting season.  Her grandchildren were her world, she loved and cherished every minute that she had with them.  Shirley is remembered as always seeing the positive in the day and would remark that every day “was a beautiful day”.  She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 66 years: Ron Schneider of Merrill, children: Rhonda Woellner of Merrill, Mark (Luann) Schneider of Athens and Greg (Terrie) Schneider of Merrill, grandchildren: Willow (Stacy Fox) Woellner, Heather Krzanowski, Maria (Ryan) Winter, Derek (Amanda) Woellner, Brittany (Brandon) Zinkowich, Brooke (John) Breaman, Karly (Nathan) Voge and Adam Schneider, great grandchildren: Alysian (Dakota) Kimmons, Sawyer Fox, Christopher, Kaitlynn, Aiden, Bryce and Austin Krzanowski, Braelynn Winter, Ryker and Colt Zinkowich, Ledger and Lawson Breaman, Harper Voge and Jonathan and Abby Schneider and great great grandchildren: Nova Lee and Forest Kimmons.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Donald Grund and sister: Marion Ament.

The family is planning a gathering to celebrate Shirley’s life.

Waid Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences are encouraged and may be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
