Linda Tyo

October 14, 1943 — October 16, 2018

Linda C. Tyo, age 75, of Merrill, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at her home, while surrounded by her family and under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.  She was born on October 14, 1943 to the late John and Julia (Buchanan) Campbell in Damascus, Virginia.  Linda attended high school at Toulon, IL.  She met Jim Tyo, and the two lovingly exchanged marriage vows on April 4, 1975 in Rockford, IL.  He survives.

Linda and Jim spent most their married lives in Fort Meyers, FL.  They loved their life and home in Florida and the family has many fond memories of times spent together near the water. Later they moved back to the mountains in NC so they could feel closer to the roots Linda grew up in.

Linda was retired, but she was proud of her accomplishments as a processor for an automotive corporation.   Linda cherished her family and was very much family-oriented; they came first and foremost in her life.  She was an accomplished pianist and shared her love of the instrument entertaining at Christmas with her family around the piano. Christmas was her favorite time of year.   She had a big heart and was an outgoing person, always enjoying a good visit with friends.  In her pastime, she liked to look through old family photo albums and reminisce, finish adult coloring books, knit, crochet and make bookmarks.  There is an empty rocking chair in our family that can never be filled.  She will be sadly missed.

Linda is survived by her husband: Jim Tyo of Merrill, daughters: Sheri (Jerry) Gerondale of Green Bay, Julie Meyer of North Carolina and Shawn (Bill) Woodside of South Carolina, sons: David (Cindy) Hall and Doug Hall, both of Illinois, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and brother: Joe (Chris) Campbell of Illinois.  Many nieces nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents John Henry and Julia Campbell and grandson: William Meyer.

Mom, you were our rock and our teacher.  You were the strength we leaned on.  Our peace only comes from knowing Mam-maw and Grandaddy welcomed you and Willie was in their arms.  You will be with us in our daily steps and always a whisper in the wind.  You were so loved…..

Services and inurnment for Linda will take place in Illinois later.

Waid Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
