Kathaleen Lindquist

Kathaleen “Kathy” M. Lindquist, age 77, of Merrill, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 27, 2021 at Bell Tower Residence under the care of Compassus Hospice. She was born November 13, 1943 in Tomahawk to the late William and Kathryn (Tierney) Stiff. Kathy and Tom Lindquist were united in marriage on October 16, 1975 in Tomahawk. He survives.

Kathy graduated from Tomahawk High School, class of 1961. After she and Tom were married, they moved to Tomah where she worked for Century Tel (Telephone Company) as a dispatcher. Together, they owned their own business where they sold wholesale pottery and vases to various gardening suppliers and florists across Wisconsin and even into Minnesota and Michigan. She and Tom still enjoyed traveling in their later years. Kathy loved music and played the piano daily. Due to that love of music, she acquired quite a collection of sheet music. Kathy tragically lost her only son when he was 2 but was able to foster a close relationship with her step-children, nieces and nephews, whom she adored and lit up her life. She was a very kind hearted, sweet lady who loved everyone. She will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Thomas R. Lindquist, of Merrill; step-children: John Lindquist of Atlanta, GA, Patricia (Lori) Lindquist, Merrill, and Lisa Lindquist, Atlanta, GA; four siblings: Charles (Barbara) Stiff, Weston, Maureen Lechleitener, Tomahawk, Mary (Art) Tralmer, Tomah, and Patricia Derleth, Tomahawk; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Kurt Kevin Kahle, and brother-in-law, Jerome Lechleitener.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Waid Funeral Home. Pastor Pat Schutz will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service, also at the funeral home. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
