Obituary

John Conrad Heggblom passed away peacefully at the age of 73 at his Scottsdale, Arizona home on October 22, 2021, after a five-year battle with cancer. John was born April 18, 1948 in Miami, Florida to Julius Conrad & Dorothy McDermid Heggblom. The youngest of three children, he spent most of his youth in various countries in Africa and Denmark. He attended high school at Trinity Pawling School in Pawling, New York, and college at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Following college, he joined the Army Reserves. June 19, 1971, he married Lorinda Jill Holloway and they had two daughters (Erin D’Lorah and Johanna Katherine). John enjoyed taking his daughters to see airplanes at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and traveling around Arizona to learn the state’s history. He travelled to Merrill, Wisconsin, on a regular basis with his daughters and helped his mother drive to and from Arizona and the family cabin on Lake Pesobic in Merrill after his father passed away. He enjoyed spending time with his daughters, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter at fairs and events around Phoenix, Arizona, and traveling with friends. After retiring in 2018 he received recognition for his 34 years of service with the United States Postal Service. He lived in Scottsdale, Arizona, until his death.

He is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Erin D’Lorah & Stephen L. Toth and Johanna Katherine & David J. Holloway; grandchildren, Stephen H. Toth and Victoria M. Toth; great-granddaughter, Lacey L. Toth; two siblings and their spouses, Allan G. & Frances H. Heggblom and Carol A. & Bruce T. Murdoch, and nieces & nephews Eric, Ellen, Vanessa, and Robert.
