William 'Bill' Kroll

March 28, 1942 — August 14, 2019

William (Bill) F. Kroll of Eagle River, WI passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2019.  He passed peacefully in Hospice at Pride TLC in Weston.  Bill was 77.

Bill was born to parents Frank and Marian (Baldwin) Kroll on March 28, 1942 in Green Bay, WI.  He grew up in the Green Bay area but his heart resided in the outdoors.  He married Lillian in 1982.  He spent most of his working career employed by the Wisconsin Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.  In 1993, he and Lill had the opportunity to move to Eagle River, WI.  Here he was able to embrace what the Northwoods had to offer to an outdoors man.  He spent many years researching and developing programs to promote knowledge of the Fur Trade era.  He greatly enjoyed taxidermy, hunting, and most of all fishing.

Bill is survived by his wife Lill, four children from a previous marriage:  daughter Heather Shebesta (Bob), son Noah (Heidi), son Ethan (Stacey), and daughter Rebecca Jensen; also step-son Kenneth Kolar (Jennifer), step-daughter Christine Krzanowski (Nicholas) and eight grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Barb LaFortune, brother-in-law Merle LaFortune and step-daughter Valerie Kolar.

At Bill’s request, he will be cremated and a small immediate family gathering will take place to scatter his ashes.  Condolences may be sent to family members or Waid Funeral Home in Merrill care of Lillian Kroll.

Waid Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
