Virginia E. Bergman

October 14, 1934 — October 3, 2023

Rhinelander

Virginia Estelle Bergman, age 88, of Parish, WI, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. She was born on October 14, 1934 in the town of Enterprise, WI, and was the daughter to the late Mike E. and Cora E. (Pond) Robison.  Virginia attended and graduated from high school in Elcho, WI.  She met the love of her life, LaVerne Frederick Bergman, and the two exchanged marriage vows on June 15, 1957 in Antigo, WI.  Sadly, he preceded her in death on July 27, 2009.

Virginia enjoyed her work farming, whether it was chicken, veal or dairy cows, she always gave it her best.  She was a proud member of the AMPI Women’s Group and enjoyed that comradery.  Virginia was also a past secretary of the ladies aid at church and president of the Worthwhile Women.  She looked forward to traveling and would do so every chance she had. Virginia was a skilled and talented seamstress and worked for Lindy Cleaners in Rhinelander for some time.  She loved animals, dog-sitting and seeing all of the wildlife in her yard, she would feed them all!  Virginia was a dedicated volunteer at Bethesda for 20 years, and would often have “bonus” kids around.  She was passionate about giving back to others.  She was a member at Luther Memorial Church in Gleason, and was very active in the church.  Her faith and relationship with God were very important to her.  Virginia will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Virginia is survived by her children: Frederick Bergman of Parish, WI, Christine Sackett of Rhinelander, WI and Calvin (Linda) Bergman of Laughlin, NV, granddaughter: Casandra Rae (Joe) Meirhofer of Rhinelander, WI, grandson: Robert Sackett Jr. of San Diego, CA, great grandchildren: Miles Sackett, Laura Sackett and Paydn, Monty and Celina Meirhofer, and sister: Joyce Helser of Pelican Lake, WI.  She was preceded in death by her husband, son-in-law: Robert Sackett, brothers: Wilbur (Sylvia) Robison and Leon (Shirley) Robison and brother-in-law: Rudy Helser.

A visitation for Virginia will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Luther Memorial Church in Gleason from 9:00am until 11:00am, with the memorial service following.  Pastor Greg Laska will officiate.
