Tammy Koporetz

Tammy A. Koporetz, age 56, of Merrill, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at Pine Crest Nursing Home after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Milwaukee on January 10, 1961 to Edward and Edith (Kopydlowski) Koporetz. Tammy graduated from South Milwaukee High School. She went on to earn her degree in Broadcasting. Tammy then became a homemaker when her children were young and enjoyed spending those years with them. She was a people person who loved spending time with others. Tammy was well known for her creative style and bright and colorful fingernails. She enjoyed playing scrabble and at one time was an avid bowler. Tammy was even a youth bowling coach at Les & Jim's for many years. She was a diehard Packer fan! First and foremost, Tammy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include her two daughters: Stephanie (Ryan) Schwartzman and Crystal Erdman, all of Merrill; four grandchildren: Cooper, Renlee and Wyatt Schwartzman and Devin Gennrich; three brothers: Tom (Gail) Koporetz, Tod (Brenda) Koporetz and Terry Koporetz; and mother: Edith Koporetz. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward, son, Jon Koporetz, and best friend, Mike Erdmann. Funeral services for Tammy will be held at 5 PM at Waid Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. Reverand Phil Schneider will officiate. A visitation will be from 2-5 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation will be held from 2 PM until the time of service, also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tammy's name to the Merrill Food Pantry or the Pine Crest Activity Department. Waid Funeral Home and Cremation is assisting the family with arrangements.
