Robert “Bob” John Schotz passed away on May 8, 2023. Bob was born on September 21, 1958, the son of Kenneth and Pauline (Tracy) Schotz. In 1977 he joined the Air Force where he was a jet engine mechanic. He married Linda Woellner in 1977. They were stationed in Charleston, South Carolina and Grand Forks, North Dakota. After being discharged from service, he worked at Northern Door, Ward Paper, and then went to school to learn computers, earning an associate degree. He then worked for different insurance companies and retired from United Health Care in December 2020. Bob enjoyed playing and watching golf, watching the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. Bob also enjoyed raising honey bees and was a member of the Marathon County Bee Association. Bob and Linda enjoyed going to Wollersheim Winery & Distillery, they also enjoyed going to Door County.

Bob is survived by his wife Linda, sons: Jason of Merrill and Justin with spouse Hope and grandson, Grayson and granddaughter Ariya of Eau Claire, sister: Kathy of Rhinelander, brothers: William “Bill” with friend Cindy of Merrill and Gerald “Jerry” and his wife Ann from Philo, Illinois, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Gary and Donna Dietrich, Patty McDonald and friend Ron, Keith and Kim Woellner, and Brian and Shannon Woellner all of Merrill and Steve and Mary Woellner of Wausau, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, special friends from Club X to C Golf Course and Restaurant that were like family to him.

Bob is preceded in death by infant son Ryan John Schotz, parents Kenneth and Pauline Schotz and his in laws Donald and Marlene Woellner.

Per Bob’s wishes no services will be held.
