Peggy Lee Krombholz, age 58, of Merrill, passed away after a long illness on Monday, April 27, 2020 at Ascension Good Samaritan Hospital in Merrill. She was born on November 13, 1961 to the late Herbert and Barbara Krombholz in Merrill. Peggy was named by her father after the famous singer of the time, Peggy Lee. She was born with a medical condition, the only way she could walk was with crutches and braces on her legs, but this did not slow her down. Peggy attended Washington Elementary and went on to graduate from Merrill Senior High. She also had to learn how to drive a car with hand controls.
After high school, Peggy went on to UWSP and mid-state technical school for business. She worked as a secretary in Stevens Point. Peggy loved to listen to music and go to concerts, including a country concert with Tricia Yearwood, who she got to meet backstage after the concert. She also enjoyed flowers and always had them in her windows in her apartment. Peggy loved her cat, “Sassy” and looked forward to the next cuddle from her! She was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan, whether on the radio or TV, and would call home after the game to talk about it. She will be sadly missed, but not forgotten.
Peggy is survived by her siblings: Bette (Jack) McLennan of Chicago, IL, Karol (Tom) Kruse of Seattle, WA, Julie (Arnie) Plamann of Rhinelander, WI, Bruce (Karen) Krombholz of Merrill, Mark (Mary) Krombholz of Merrill and Faith (Randy) Thurs of Wausau, along with 12 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Herbert and Barbara Krombholz.
