Patricia ‘Pat’ Ann Peeters, age 75, of Merrill, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 23, 2023, after undergoing a surgical procedure at the UW Madison Hospital. She was born on August 9, 1947 to the late Chester J. and Lucille M. (Stachura) Polebitski in Stevens Point, WI. Pat grew up in Eastside Floral, a business that her parents owned. This was the beginning of her love for flowers. Pat met the love of her life, her best friend, Larry Peeters. The two were united in marriage on February 27, 1971, in Merrill. A union lasting nearly 52 years.
Pat was always an organized person so her job in various administrative assistant positions suited her well. She had last worked in the office at Wausau East High School and was there for 30 years.
Pat was an avid reader, had lots of books and would attend book exchanges whenever she could. Saying she was a very skilled quilter and basket maker was an understatement! She took it very seriously but was very talented and had a lot of fun with it! Pat especially looked forward to her time quilting with the ladies at Bell Tower, ultimately making hundreds of quilts. She also had a passion for basket weaving, she had rooms and areas specifically for all of her supplies. She has left her family with these priceless quilts and baskets, something that can be passed down from generation to generation. Pat enjoyed giving back to the community and organizations that helped others, and often did so in memory of her daughter, Becky. She was always very active in community events, including making and selling delicious popcorn at Gazebo Nights with Larry, and they would donate their proceeds to Relay for Life. Pat was a creative person that would make beautiful handmade cards with rubber stamps, she had a huge collection of rubber stampers. She had an eye for creating the perfect card for the perfect occasion. Pat and Larry enjoyed doing many things together, they were a great team. They enjoyed photography together, where they did weddings for over 30 years. Pat was an accomplished photographer and gifted at setting up photos. Pat and Larry also built their home together hand in hand, from the ground up. Pat will be missed by many, but the seeds she has sown in the hearts of her loved ones and friends will grow into beautiful memories.
Pat leaves behind her loving husband: Larry Peeters, daughter: Therese (Jeremy) Kufahl, grandsons: Kurtis and Tyler Kufahl, great grandson: Asher Kufahl, brother: Richard Polebitski and sister: Susan Hubeny, along with many nieces, nephews and good friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter: Rebecca Peeters and brother: Jim Polebitski.

Visitation will be held that same day from 9am until the time of the service, also at the funeral home. A luncheon in the Lincoln Room at the funeral home will immediately follow the service.
