Janean Hass

October 28, 1934 — February 4, 2022

Janean B. Hass, age 87, of Merrill, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022, while under the care of Agrace Hospice Care in Madison.  She was born on October 28, 1934, to the late Helmuth and Erna (Hass) Haehlke. Janean attended and graduated from Athens High School.  Soon after high school, Janean met the love of her life, Roger Hass, and the two exchanged marriage vows on April 6, 1958, in Athens, WI.  Sadly, Roger proceeded her in death on October 29, 2021.

Janean worked as a hair stylist during her younger years, as well as working in the nearby cranberry marsh.  Later in life, Janean enjoyed her time at home as a homemaker, wife, and mother.  She loved to cook and bake, was very talented at playing the accordion and enjoyed going polka dancing with Roger.  Janean was also an avid Green Bay Packers fan and looked forward to playing cards with family and friends, especially Sheepshead.  She also enjoyed playing the dominos game, Mexican Train.  Janean is remembered as having a strong faith in God, a beaming smile and loved her animals!  She was also known for being a prankster and telling jokes.  Janean was a member at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Corning.  She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Janean is survived by her daughters: Laureen (Garth) Yeazel and Kimberly (Ryan) Schmid and nieces and nephews: Sherry, Jerry, Nancy, Rick, Todd and Cammie.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband: Roger Hass, son: Darrell Hass, sister: Karen Baumann and brother-in-laws: Clifford (Barbara) Hass, Carlos (Carol) Hass and Ronald (Ira) Hass.

A Memorial Service for Janean will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 12pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Corning, with a visitation from 11am until the time of the service.  Pastor Joel Danner will officiate.
