Hilda Grell

Hilda Marie Grell, age 94, formerly of the town of Corning, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015 at the Pinecrest Nursing Home in Merrill. Hilda was born to the late William and Alma Becker on August 28, 1921 in Athens, WI. Hilda is also preceded in death by her husband: Alvin Grell, son: Wilfred Grell, granddaughter: Loretta Guite, sisters: Leona Lehrmann and Bertha Procknow, brothers: Frederick and Henry Becker. Hilda is survived by her 6 children, daughter: Lorraine (late David) Przybyl from Lansing, IL, son: Allen (Sandy) Grell from Stratford, WI, daughter: Darlene (late Ronald) Kautz from Antigo, WI, daughter: Carol (Gene) Knapp from Wausau, WI and daughter: Barbara Grell from Wausau, WI. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren with two more due in February, and 8 great great grandchildren. A memorial service for Hilda will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 11AM at Waid Funeral Home in Merrill. Rev. Joy Nelson will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 9AM and continue until the time of the service, also at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in the town of Berlin. Special recognition is extended to Michelle and Terry at Interim Hospice and the staff at Pinecrest Nursing Home for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, please direct all donations to a memorial for Hilda. Donations may be mailed to Waid Funeral Home, 301 Eagle Drive, Merrill, WI 54452.
