Gloria Dorger

Gloria Dorger, a loving sister, mother, grandmother and aunt, earned her angel wings on February 27, 2015 at the age of 59. Gloria was born to Oren L. and Francis (Winchell) Kretschmer of Merrill on August 18, 1955. She was baptized into the Methodist Church. Gloria attended and graduated from Merrill High School. She married Dennis Dorger on August 18, 1978 in Merrill, WI. He preceded her in death in February 2009. She was devoted housewife and loved her family with all of her heart. She enjoyed spending time and visiting with family and friends. She was well-known for her knitting skills. Gloria enjoyed many activities, including sewing, cooking meals for family gatherings, playing cribbage with family and friends and going salmon fishing in Marinette County. She loved reading Stephen King books and had quite a collection! Gloria loved the outdoors, especially when she was able to go camping. Gloria is survived by her son, Josh Dorger ( girlfriend, Peggy) of Merrill; 4 grandchildren, all of Merrill; 4 sisters, May Kretschmer of Merrill, Norma Schroeder of Merrill, Cheryl Rampart of Mississippi and Phyllis Millenbach of Wausau; 2 brothers, Leonard Kretschmer of Rockford, IL and Joseph Kretschmer of Merrill. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis Dorger; step-mother, Elthera Vanis Kretschmer; infant son, Dennis Dorger Jr.; many nieces and nephews and many other special family members. A Memorial Service for Gloria will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 4PM at the Christ United Methodist Church in Merrill. Pastor Angie Steinhauer will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that "Love Offerings" be sent to either Waid Funeral Home at 301 Eagle Drive in Merrill or the Christ United Methodist Church at 300 N. Mill St. in Merrill to help with the services and lunch. Waid Funeral Home of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be sent to www.waidfuneral.com.
