Dennis Wilding

Dennis Lee Wilding, age 72, of Merrill, died on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at his residence. Dennis was born on October 21, 1944 to the late Buford and Margaret (Gimmicke) Wilding in Milwaukee, WI. Dennis most recently worked at Merrill Iron & Steel. He had previously worked as a self-employed, owner/operator truck driver, along with several trucking companies as a mechanic, Lincoln County Highway Department, Blacksmith and a shop supervisor. Dennis was a member of the S&S Club. He enjoyed airplanes and old cars. Dennis would also spend time golfing or working on his woodworking projects. He will be remembered as always ready and willing to help others when needed. Dennis was a veteran that was enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserves. Dennis is survived by his daughter: Lynn (Albie) Janka of Waukesha, sons: Jeffrey Wilding and Ryan (Stephanie) Wilding, both of Merrill, step-son: Scott (Linda) Doerr and step-daughter: Toni (Max) Peterson, both of Merrill, grandchildren: Dalton, Zachary and Andrew Wilding, brothers: Doug (Mary) Wilding of Knoxville, TN and David (Jan) Wilding of Louisville, KT and sister: Karen (Joseph) Visocky of Shawano, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents: Buford and Margaret Wilding and his ex-wife: Donna Wilding, the love of his life. A private family service will be held at a later date. Entombment will take place at Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Waid Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements.
