Blossom Strand

Blossom Ann Strand, age 85, of the town of Scott, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at her residence in Merrill, WI.  She was surrounded by her family and loved ones under the care of Ascension At Home Hospice Care. Blossom was born on February 3, 1933 to John and Blossom (Leveille) Mischnick in Elmhurst, ILL.

On June 16, 1951 she married her husband Myron G. Strand Sr. and celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Blossom along with her husband Myron own and operated a dairy farm from 1969 until 1998 in the town of Scott. Blossom enjoyed playing piano, gardening, bird watching, crafting, ceramics, sewing, reading and knitting. Blossom enjoyed spending time with her family at the family cottage.

She enjoyed swimming, fishing, boating, camping, water skiing and picnics.

Blossom is survived by her sons: Myron Strand Jr., John (Eva Haugen) Strand, Steve (Terri) Strand, and Daniel (Jill) Strand; daughters: Ann (Barry) Litke, and Mary (Charles) Haenel; 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and 9 step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother; Blossom (Leveille) Mischnick; father; John Mischnick; husband; Myron Strand Sr.; her daughter Diane Strand; and  grandson:  Jason Strand and great grandson: David Schneider.

Visitation for Blossom will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 9-11 a.m., with the service at 11 a.m.  at Waid Funeral Home, Father Chris Kemp will officiate.  Graveside services will be at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery following the service.
