James H. Jones, age 65, of Merrill went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at St. Clare Hospital, Weston. James was born on August 7, 1949 to Wesley and Marie (Kaseno) Jones in Ashland County, WI. He married Cynthia Turney on November 7, 1970 in Mellen, WI.
James will be missed by many. He could easily put a smile on anyone's face with his charming grin, beautiful blue eyes, and quick wit. He was an amazingly strong man, remained positive throughout the darkest of days and had an incredible sense of humor. James loved music, dancing and his hometown.
At a very young age Jim had a fondness for cars and trucks. Racing, truck pulling, mud bogging, you name it, he probably did it. Eventually his love of cars lead him to owning his very own successful car dealership, Jones Ford, in a small town called Mellen, Wisconsin. He was proud of the awards he received from a big corporate company such as Ford Motor Co., he liked the competition, he loved owning his own business, and he enjoyed the many loyal customers that he had.
Jim adored his "girls"- Cindy, Bridgette, and Breezy. Then, along came the grandchildren, Garrett, Jackson and Katarina. Truly, love at first sight for him. Jim truly worshipped his family. Family was everything to him.
Jim is survived by his loving wife; Cynthia, daughters; Bridgett (Keith) Miller, Breezy (Patrick) Bonneville, grandchildren; Garrett, Jackson, Katarina, mother, Marie, sisters; Phyllis (Jim), Tammy, Debbie , Rita (Mark), Sharon (Ron), Karen (Lyle), Sherryle (Bob), Kay, Diane (Charles) brothers; Ron (Sharon), Robert, John (Bootsie), Gary (Norma), Morgan (Cheryl), many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by father, Wesley Jones. Memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Union Congregational Church, Mellen, WI. Rev. Kenneth Wheeler will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
