Wilma Goetsch

June 16, 1913 — April 12, 2009

Wilma Emma Goetsch, 95 of Merrill, died Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Pine Crest Nursing Home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.  She was born June 16, 1913 to the late Gus and Emma (Pitz) Langbecker.  She married Marvin Goetsch on January 30, 1937 in Merrill.  He died on September 3, 2005.



Wilma was employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory for 16 years, working in the sole department.  She spent most of her life as a homemaker and was inseparable from her husband, Marvin for 67 years.  Wilma enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, knitting, canning and cooking.  She loved to travel with her husband.  Wilma belonged to the Altar Guild at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill.



Survivors include nieces and nephews, Barb Steffenhagen of Spencer, Mike & Marjorie Goetsch, Lavine Krause and Judy Buntrock all of Merrill; special friends, Paul & Christina Kienitz and Julie Coonen, all of Merrill, and Pat & Geri Knowles of Macclenny, Florida; and brother-in-law, Harvey Goetsch of Beaver Dam.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marvin; 2 infant children, Dennis and Kathleen; 1 sister, Leona Saeger; and 1 brother, Marvin Langbecker.



Funeral services will be on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Waid Funeral Home in Merrill.  The Rev.  Brian Stolarczyk will officiate.  Visitation will be from 9:00 until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Merrill Memorial Park in Merrill.  On-line tributes may be made at www.waidfuneral.com .  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or School.
