Virginia Bushar

October 31, 1944 — April 20, 2010

Virginia Ann Bushar, age 65 of Merrill, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at St. Josephs in Marshfield. Virginia was born October 31, 1944 in Merrill, the daughter of Walter, and Mable (Severt) Sherfinski. Virginia married Freeman Bushar Sr. on March 14, 1964, in Merrill. He preceded her in death on November 2, 1992.


Virginia worked for JW Windows as a screen assembler. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Texas Hold ‘em, and also some board games such as Scrabble. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors, by camping, fishing, deer hunting, riding motorcycles, and snowmobiling.


Survivors include one daughter, Connie Podeweltz of Wausau, and two sons, Freeman (Lori) Bushar Jr. of Weston, and Steven (Sandy) Bushar of Gleason. Grandchildren include Kevin and Ashley Podeweltz. Michael Bushar, Beth Slattery, Paul and Nicole Bushar. Great-Grandchildren include Nevaeh, and Arianna Podeweltz. Five sisters, Loretta (Jack) Borgert, JoAnn (Everett) Rogers, Janet (John) Fechner, Pat (Keith) Wendt and Pam (Steve) Cupples. One brother, David (Sandy) Sherfinski.


Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Freeman Bushar Sr., her Parents Walter and Mable Sherfinski, and one brother Roger Sherfinski.


Services will be at 10:00a.m. Monday, April 26, 2010 at Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. Reverend Father Horath will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Sunday, and again from 9:00a.m. until 10:00a.m. Monday at Waid Funeral Home, Merrill.
