Phyllis Morrison

Phyllis J. Morrison, 90, of Merrill, died Monday, September 2, 2013 at Pine Crest Nursing Home . She was born May 19, 1923 in Merrill to the late Louis and Lynne (Tholl) Schuman. On July 25, 1942 Phyllis and Emery Morrison were united in marriage in Merrill. He preceded her in death in June of 1976. Phyllis graduated from Merrill Senior High School. After she and Emery were married, she became a dedicated wife and mother. Phyllis was an avid cardinal collector and enjoyed gardening and flowers, especially Lilly of the Valley and lilacs. Phyllis also enjoyed spending time playing cards and knitting . Her favorite event was going out to eat with friends and family. Phyllis loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchild. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Survivors include her five children, Phyllis (Herman) Meyer, Michael (Dianne Belling) Morrison, Patricia (Harold) Schulz, all of Merrill, Mary (Tom) Jodarski, Mauston, WI, and Julia (Steven) Vigue, Center, ND; 13 grandchildren, Robert Meyer, Jody Meyer, Jack Morrison, Nicole Mitchell, Jill Hilber, Barbara Schulz, Jamie Marmes, Bonnie Tiry, Mark Schulz, Katie Bauer, Kari Due, Caleb Vigue and Aria Spano; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and two brothers, Earl Schuman and Richard Schuman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 34 years, Emery, son, Peter Morrison, two brothers and two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Waid Funeral Home. Father Mike McLain will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in St. Francis Cemetery. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
