Lilamae Pankow

May 2, 1920 — February 28, 2015

Lilamae Pankow, age 94, went to be with her Lord on February 28, 2015 where she resided at Woodland Court. Lilamae was born on May 2, 1920 to the late Albert and Clara (Plautz) Ritter. She married her soulmate Norman Pankow at St. Paul Lutheran Parsonage of Naugart on October 28, 1944 and they were blessed with 65 years of marriage. Lilamae was full of life and enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved living on a dairy farm because that allowed her to spend time in the outdoors. Lilamae was an avid hunter. She also liked gardening, flowers, birdwatching, polka's and dancing. Lilamae was active in church. She also shared her talent of playing the accordion or the harmonica at parties for entertainment and she loved to crochet afghans for family members. Lilamae was a very loving and giving person who will be dearly missed. She was a wonderful grandmother who cared for every one of her 32 grandchildren while also taking care of her son, Larry, who was confined to a wheel chair and helping with the family farm. Survivors include her children; Sharon (Norbert) Holz, Mark (Carol) Pankow, Cynthia (Jerry) Buffinton, Bruce (Cindy) Pankow, Angela (Calvin) Klade, all of Merrill, 25 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, one great great grand child and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by; husband, Norman, son, Larrimore, daughter, Corliss, and her only brother, Norman Ritter. The Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. Rev. Kenneth Albers will be officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Waid Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at Trinity Lutheran Church, 107 N. State Street, Merrill, WI 54452. Her final resting place will be in Snow Hill Cemetery. Special thanks to Debbie Kufahl and all the staff at Woodland Court for the excellent care of Lilamae.
