Keith W. Osterbrink
Keith W. Osterbrink, age 76, of Merrill, died Friday, July 31, 2009, with his family at his side, at Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill under the care of Ministry Homecare – Hospice. Keith was born in
Wausau
on May 5, 1933, the son of the late William and Sarah (
Clark
) Osterbrink. He married the former Phyllis Greil on November 9, 1957 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Marathon
. She survives him.
Keith was a 1951 graduate of
Marathon
High School
. He joined the United States Army in 1955 and served 18 months in
Germany
and was honorably discharged in 1957. After his military service he was a licensed cheese maker for the Clearfield Cheese Company. Keith worked at various jobs throughout his life. He worked for many years at the Housing Mart in
Wausau
and then worked in the maintenance department at
Lincoln
Hills
Boys
School
until his retirement in 1997. Keith was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Merrill and was a Third Degree Knight of Columbus. He loved sports and the Romie Gozs Polka Band. But most of all he loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandson.
Keith is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Merrill, a daughter; Dawn (Doug) Woodrick of Fairfield, OH, 3 sons; Mark of
Wausau
, Chuck (Kerry) and William both of Merrill. 1 sister, Grace (
Alvin
) Jansen of
Athens
, 2 brothers, Marvin (Delores) of
Wausau
and Roger (Cindy) of Edgar. 3 grandchildren; Jessie (Dustin) Moore, Jacob and Eric Osterbrink. And 1 great-grandson, Nicholas Moore.
A Memorial Mass will be held
10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 6, 2009 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Merrill. The Rev. Father James Horath will officiate.
The family requests that memorials be given to the Lincoln County Humane Society in Keith’s Memory. The Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online tributes may be made at
