June Krueger

June D. Krueger, age 67, of Madison, a former Merrill resident, died Friday, May 7, 2010 at Trinity Senior Community in Madison under Hospice Care of Dane County. She was born June 26, 1942, in Merrill, the daughter of the late Marvin and Julia (Holzem) Krueger.

June was a 1960 graduate of Merrill Senior High School . She attended Gale Institute in Minneapolis , MN , graduating with a degree in IBM Machine Accounting. June worked for the University of Wisconsin – Madison in Administrative Data Processing and also at the VA Hospital in Madison in Dietary Services and Information Technology. She retired in 2005. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping and golfing. In her retirement she was an avid gardener and griller. June enjoyed “taking rides on nice days” and Monday nights with friends at the VFW Post in Madison .

June is survived by 1 brother; Gerald Krueger of Merrill, 2 brothers-in-law; Phil Benzinger of Wausau and Larry Michalski Sr.of Wautoma, 6 nieces; Pamela (Kevin) Sturm, Joy (Steve) Beckman, Kelly (George) Stewart, Kristen (Joseph) Sweat, Nancy Michalski and Kay (Paul) Heggemeier. 2 nephews; John (Jean) Michalski and Mark (Dawn) Michalski. Many Great Nieces and nephews and great – great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters; Kay Krueger-Beyer, Karen Krueger-Michalski, and Wanda Krueger-Benzinger, 1 brother-in-law; Edwin Beyer, one nephew; Larry “Butch” Michalski Jr.and her life time companion; Louise “Boots” Disch.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at the Waid Funeral Home. The Rev. Edwin Vargas will officiate. Burial will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Schley . Friends may call from 4PM to 8PM, Monday, May 10, 2010 at the Waid Funeral Home and again on Tuesday, from 9:30 AM until the hour of services at the funeral Home.

The family would like to thank Hospice Care of Dane County and Trinity Senior Community of Madison for their staff and loving care given to June and her family. It truly was her home.
