James Hajdu

July 23, 1928 — March 11, 2010

James N. Hajdu, 81, went to heaven peacefully on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Marywood Nursing Home in Wausau , his family by his side.



James was born July 23, 1928 in Milwaukee , the son of John and Cathryn Hajdu. He married June Temple, June of 1954 in Milwaukee . She preceded him in death. In 1973 he married Loretta Smuckler. She also preceded him in death.



James graduated from St. John’s Cathedral Catholic High School , Milwaukee , in 1946. He was in the C.I.D. with the U.S. Army during WWII. He and his family lived in various areas of the country. Traveling often, James worked for: Dunn & Bradstreet, American Tobacco, Helene Curtis, Union Hall, and owned his own health and beauth business in Milwaukee . In 2005, he moved to Bell Tower Residence in Merrill. While there, he enjoyed playing in the rhythm band, singing, and participating in skits. He was an avid Packer, Brewer and Notre Dame fan. James especially loved spending time with his family and friends who loved him dearly.



Survivors include his son, James J. (Christine) Hajdu, Merrill; grandchildren: Karissa, Nicolette, and James N. Hajdu, Linsey and Jenna Stahel; great grandchildren; Devonte, Deanne, Devon and Bohdy; special nephew, Jerry Hayden and niece, Cindee Hughes. James is further survived by a brother, Joseph Hajdu and sister, Ruth Hajdu, Milwaukee . He was also preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings.



A funeral service will be held at Tuesday, March 16, 2010, 11:30 AM at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Milwaukee . Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery . The Rev. Timothy Kitzke will officiate. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the hour of services Tuesday at the Holy Cross Mausoleum, Milwaukee .
