Helen Winkelman

Helen Winkelman, age 91, formerly of Merrill, died Saturday September 26,


2009 at  U.M.C. Hospital in Lebanon, TN. She was born May 31, 1918 in


Tomahawk, the daughter of the late Herman and Katherine (Bock) Krueger. She


married Bernard Winkelman on December 12, 1943 in St. Paul Lutheran Church


in Irma. He died August 3, 1974.


Helen was a homemaker. She enjoyed crossword books and embroidering, but her


children were her life.


Helen is survived by 2 sons: Bernard Winkleman of Merrill and Larry (Debbie)


Winkelman of Tomahawk. 5 daughters: Sally (Leonard) Smith of Loveland, CO,


Joan (Glen) Powers of Hartsville, TN, Carol (Dan) Caylor of Merrill, Linda


Koob of Irma and Paula Osness of Merrill. 13 grandchildren and 9


great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard, a


daughter-in-law, Sue Winkelman and a son–in–law, Steve Osness.


Services will be 11:00 AM October 6, 2009 at the Waid Funeral Home. The Rev.


Kelly Leary will officiate. Friends may call on October 6, 2009 from 9AM to


11 AM  at the Waid Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery


in the town of Rock Falls.
