Hazel Jehn

On Wednesday, August 5, 2009, Hazel Jehn slipped quietly away and is now walking hand in hand with her husband, Milt, who passed away on September 24, 2004.

Hazel was born Hazel Betty Eschenbach on January 18, 1922 to Andrew and Hilda (Wolfgram) Eschenbach in Wausau, Wisconsin. She attended Wausau area public schools.

Hazel enjoyed going to dances - she especially liked doing the Polish hop. She also enjoyed going out to eat, taking her walks at Jenny Towers, and visiting with family and friends. She enjoyed her church family and the activities at the church.

Hazel is survived by her two sons: Dennis and his wife, Judy, of Avondale, Arizona; Jack and his wife, Barb of Mesa, Arizona; and her daughter Kathy and her husband, Gene, of Mesa, Arizona. She is survived by 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Hazel is also survived by sisters: Carol (Richard) Gehrt and Virginia (Tom) Birt, both of Wausau; her brother James (Delores) Eschenbach of Waukesha; her brother-in-law John Morgan of Sarasota, Florida, and her sister-in-law, Viola Jehn of Wisconsin Rapids. She is preceded in death by her husband Milton in 2004, her parents, and her sister, Gladys Morgan.

A service of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 12 at 10:00 AM at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Merrill. Pastor James Weiland will officiate.
