George Mohrland



George Mohrland, age 81, of Merrill, died Saturday April 11, 2009 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, in Merrill, under Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born August 2, 1927 in the town of Corning , the son of the late Henry and Marie ( Constance ) Mohrland. He married the former Beatrice Barthels on December 20, 1958 in Merrill. She survives.



George dairy farmed along with his wife in the town of Corning all of his life. He also owned and operated the Mohrland Trucking Company and had been employed by Northern Door company. George was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in the town of Berlin . He was a former member of the Copper River Midnight Riders Snowmobile Club. George loved his truck.



He is survived by his wife Beatrice Mohrland, Merrill. 1 daughter, Judy (Jerome) Bonke of Merrill. 2 step-daughters: Karen (Rick) Leopold of Marathon, Audrey Jones of Wausau , 2 step-sons: Kenneth Thomas of Marathon and Douglas (Hollie) Thomas of Merrill. 4 sisters: Kathryn (George) Krass of DePere, Helen Kline of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Ruth Hintz of Wausau and Emma Plautz of Merrill. A sister-in-law, Joan Mohrland, of Janesville .9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers: Henry, Herman, Rudolph and one brother in infancy. 4 sisters: Mary Wiegel, Elsie Saeger, Lydia Salefske and Ida Mohrland.



Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday April 14, 2009, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in the town of Berlin . The Rev. Jeffrey Schmidt will officiate. Burial will take place at Snow Hill Cemetery in the town of Scott . Friends may call from 9:00 AM until the hour of services Tuesday, April14, 2009, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church .
