Elvira Hoeft

Elvira D. Hoeft, Age 85, of Merrill, died Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.
Elvira was born February 18, 1924, the daughter of the late Ervin and Antona (Mootz) Luedtke, in the Town of Berlin. She and Ervin Hoeft were united in marriage September 4, 1948 in Merrill, he preceded her in death.
Elvira enjoyed playing cards, especially Sheep head, and watching the Brewers and Atlanta Braves baseball games. She enjoyed making jellies, pies, and cookies. Elvira enjoyed spending time with children, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill.
Survivors include: son: Angelo ( Joyce ) Hoeft, Hamburg,
Robert ( Jean ) Hoeft , Merrill,
daughter: Sherry (Jim) Schwartz, Merrill
Grandchildren: Chuck, Elizabeth (fiancé Paul), Sara (Kevin) Vetterkind, Ryan (Jamie), Nicholas (Amanda), and Matthew.
Step grandchildren: Jamie, Laurie, Amy and Brian
5 great grandchildren: Jeffrey, Jared, Samantha, Riley, and Justin,
2 sisters: Bernice Wetterau, and Rosemary (Art) Plautz,
nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Ervin.
Funeral service will be 12:00 pm Thursday, December 3, 2009 at Waid Funeral Home, Pastor Rev. Brian Stolarczyk to officiate, burial to follow at Restlawn Cemetery in Wausau. Visitaion will be 10 am Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Broadcast Radio.
