Elaine Brock, 86, of Merrill, passed away at her home under the care of Ministry Health Hospice on Thursday May 27
th
2010. She was born on July 15, 1923 to William and Hattie (Schmidt) Pophal in Merrill. Elaine and Joseph Brock were united in marriage on June 22, 1946 in Merrill. He preceded her in death in 1992.
Elaine worked as an assembler at Wienbrenner Shoe factory, and at Hanson Glove. She also farmed for the past 56 years. Elaine enjoyed gardening, and having all sorts of plants in the house. She also enjoyed playing word games, but her favorite past time was spoiling her grandchildren who she adored very much.
Survivors include two sons, Steve Brock, Merrill, Mike (Jeanne) Brock, Gleason. Two brothers, John (Barb) Pophal, of Merrill, and William (Diane) Pophal, of Hustisford, WI. Four grandchildren, Matthew (Stephanie Schulz) Brock, Krystal Brock, Andrew (Rebekah) Chartier, Rebecca (Robert) Ott. Eight great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Andrew, Abby, Mia, Maddy, Peter, Tyson, and Hallel. Nieces and Nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, and two sisters, Jane Samuelson, and Mavis Beltz.
Visitation will be 1:00pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday at Waid Funeral Home. Burial will be at Snow Hill Cemetery at a later date. Waid Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made online at waidfuneral.com.
