Edward Gennrich

 Edward Wayne Gennrich, 71, of Gleason, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.

 Ed was born September 9, 1938 in Antigo to the late August & Irene (   Marshall   ) Gennrich. He married Dorothy W. Schoone on July 22, 1961 in Rhinelander.

 Ed was a 1957 graduate of   Merrill   Senior High School   . He served in the US Army until he was honorably discharged. Ed worked several labor jobs in the Merrill area, ending his working career at Semco.   He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, bowling and playing baseball. Ed also enjoyed going to the casino, working on puzzles and making rugs. Ed’s true joy in life was spending time with his family. He was an active member of  St.  John Baptist Catholic Church in Bloomville and the Gleason Community Club. Ed spent 43 years on the Town of   Russell   volunteer fire department. Ed was always involved and enjoyed community service. He also served as treasurer of Boy Scout Troop 507 in Gleason.

 Ed is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Gleason, sons: Mike (Aimee) Gennrich, Merrill & Donald (Beckie) Gennrich, Gleason; daughter: Terri (Paul) Ross,  Evansville  ,  WI  ; grandsons: Collin and Caleb; brother: Marland (Shirley) Gennrich, Gleason; sister: Audrey (Bob) Krahn,   Madison  ,  WI   ; brother-in-law: Joe (Joyce) Schoone, Rhinelander and many nephews and nieces.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, August & Irene Gennrich, his mother and father in-law, Peter and Gertrude Schoone and one nephew, Rodney Gennrich.

 Services will be held Friday, July 9, 2010 at 11:00 AM at  St.  John Baptist Catholic Church. The Rev. Ronald Serrao will officiate. Burial will follow at   St. John   Baptist   Cemetery   . Friends may call Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 4-8 PM at Waid Funeral Home and again from 10-11 AM Friday before the service at church. Waid Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
