David Myszka

David S. Myszka, 86, of Merrill, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill. He was born December 27, 1923 to the late Michael and Josephine (Jablonski) Myszka. Dave married Olga Blizniak in 1964. She preceded him in death on September 7, 1987. He married Joanne (Mosser) Baumann on December 29, 1990 in Merrill. She survives.

Dave served in the United States Army Air Force from 1943 – 1946. After the war he worked in Detroit , Waukesha and Chicago in various factories. Dave worked at Merrill Mill Work from 2002 until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He played football in his younger days and was still a sports fan.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne Myszka, of Merrill; 2 step-daughters: Mary (Brian) Hofele and Amy (Tim) Berndt, all of Merrill; 1 step-son: William (Kathie) Baumann, of Merrill; 4 step-gandchildren: Amber (Ryan) Rice, Ashley Baumann, Samantha Jo Berndt and Hildie Jo Baumann; 3 sisters: Irene Leder, of Gleason, Margaret Hall, of Merrill, and Kathleen Vignali, of Stambough , MI .

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Olga, 6 brothers: Edward, Frank, George, John, Paul & Donald and 2 sisters: Lenora and Joann.

Services will be 11:30 AM on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at St. Francis Catholic Church. The Rev. James Horath will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm on Wednesday, May 12 at Waid Funeral Home and again from 10-11 AM, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery .
