Mark Wiesneski, age 53, of Merrill passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Friday June 12, 2009, under the care of Aspirus Hospice and Comfort Care, after a ten year battle with cancer. His attitude toward his illness was an inspiration to all who knew him.  Mark was born on August 15, 1955 in Merrill to the late Paul and Virginia (Sczygelski) Wiesneski. He married Elizabeth (Betsy) Meier on July 12, 1975 in Merrill. She survives him.

Mark was active in scouting, having been a Cub Scout leader and Boy Scout Board member. Mark was a member of the Tom Kita Chara Lodge - Order of the Arrow. He served on the United Way Allocations Committee. He enjoyed shooting firearms, playing cards, attending car shows and gun shows. He was very proud of his gun collection and enjoyed driving his hot-rod and motorcycle. He also enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers play. Mark loved to sing along with any music, especially in church -- loudly.
